The Donna Wilkinson Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society at St. Anthony School

Members of St. Anthony's National Junior Honor Society gather on the altar

at church on induction day in April 2007.

The Donna Wilkinson Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society was formed in 1999. This chapter selects students for membership based on scholarship, service, leadership, citizenship, and character. The NJHS is both an honor and a responsibility, as these members are expected to continue to demonstrate the qualities they demonstrated upon selection.

Our chapter was named for a former eighth grade student at St. Anthony. Donna was a very special person who showed tremendous courage and character. Donna died of heart and lung failure in the spring of her eighth grade year. Donna was a leader and she truly exemplified the five pillars of the NJHS.

Membership in the society is an honor, but it also incurs a responsibility and an obligation to demonstrate those outstanding qualities of scholarship (a minimum 3.25 GPA), service, leadership, citizenship, and character that resulted in one's selection. Students must be a second semester sixth, seventh, or eighth grader. Students are inducted in the spring in a formal ceremony held in the church. There ceremony is followed by a reception in the Social Hall for the inductees and their parents.
