What is the SCRIPS Program?

Scrip is a term that means "substitute money." When school families and parishioners buy SCRIPS, they are purchasing negotiable gift certificates and prepaid cards that are used just like cash. They can be used to purchase everyday expenditures like food, clothing, gifts, and other essentials. Every SCRIPS purchase earns revenue for the school.

Revenue from the PTO-sponsored SCRIPS program purchased several computers for the school in 2005. This program was expanded for the 2005-2006 school year to include monthly orders. Orders will be purchased around the 10th of each month.

The program is very easy to use. Once a month order forms are sent home in Wednesday Notes and families choose gift certificates that they want to buy. Checks should be made out to the St. Anthony PTO. The form and payment should be placed in an envelope marked "PTO SCRIPS" and returned to school or placed in the collection basket by the due date. The following week, SCRIPS certificates will be available for pick-up in the school office or parish office during regular business hours. The school earns from two to fifteen percent of the face value of the SCRIPS.
